Who runs this site

Interactive Frameworks, at interactiveframeworks.com, is an independent site run by the developer who writes the lessons, working as a sole trader. For any question, request or complaint, write to hello@interactiveframeworks.com. There is no contact form and no support desk: that address is the whole of it, and it is read by the person who writes the lessons.

What the site is

Interactive Frameworks is an independent educational site. It teaches backend web frameworks through lessons that compile and run a real application inside your browser and grade it by sending requests to the endpoints you wrote. It is not a certification body and it is not a course provider acting for anyone else.

Everything on the site is free. There is nothing to buy, nothing to subscribe to and no account to create. If that ever changes, the terms of sale will appear on this page before anything is sold.

Trademarks and affiliation

This site is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the projects, companies or foundations behind the frameworks it teaches. Their names are used only to say what a course is about, which is what the law allows a name to be used for.

• NestJS and the Nest logo are trademarks of their owner, Trilon. This site is not a Nest product and is not connected to the Nest team or their own courses.
• Node.js and Express are trademarks of the OpenJS Foundation, used here descriptively and never as part of a product or domain name.
• Hono, TypeScript, JavaScript and every other framework, language or runtime named on the site are the trademarks of their respective owners.

If you own one of these marks and would rather a page were worded differently, write to hello@interactiveframeworks.com and it will be changed.

Using the site

The lessons are free to use for learning, at work or at home. The code you write is yours. The example code shown in the lessons and their starter files may be reused in your own projects without restriction or attribution.

The lesson texts, explanations, exercises, grading and the design of the site belong to the operator and may not be copied, republished or used to train a competing product without permission, beyond what the law allows for quotation. Linking to any page is always welcome.

Please do not attack the site, scrape it wholesale or use it in a way that stops other people learning on it. There is no account to close, so the only remedy available is blocking, and it will be used if it has to be.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot promise that it is free of errors, that it teaches the newest version of anything, or that it is never interrupted, and we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of its contents, to the extent the law allows us to say so. Code you copy from a lesson into a real system is your responsibility. Nothing here limits rights that the law gives you and does not allow to be limited.

Your data

No account is needed, and your progress and code stay in your own browser. How the little that is collected is handled is set out in the privacy policy.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator is established at the time. If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts or consumer bodies there. Please write to us first: most things are settled by email within a few days.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The version in force is the one on this page when you use the site.
